Sierra’s Senior Session at St. Lukes Anderson Campus Gardens in Easton, PA

wpx_varsityimage — Fri, 04 Sep 2026 15:02:21 +0000

So, pure honesty here, the weather leading up to Sierra’s session was a mess. Days of clouds and rain, and we were watching the forecast the way you watch a flight board when you have a connection to catch. But we got lucky. The sky cleared, the light showed up, and St. Lukes Anderson Campus Gardens in Easton gave us exactly what Sierra had asked for: open space, wildflowers, tall grass, and that wide-open sky she wanted behind her.

Sierra is the kind of person who walks into a space and the energy shifts a little. Outgoing, funny, and genuinely warm, not in a performed way, just in the way some people are wired. She’s heading into Early Childhood Education at LCTI, and talking to her for five minutes, it makes complete sense. She brought a kindergarten photo of herself to the session, and she wore a white stole covered in colorful handprints. Those two details together said more about where she’s been and where she’s going than anything I could have planned.

Tall Grass and Open Sky

We started out in the fields, loose, unhurried, no pressure to hit a specific pose. Sierra wanted relaxed and natural, and that’s what we went for. Cory and I may have attempted to demonstrate a few midair poses off a wall at one point. I’ll say this: there’s a reason we stay behind the camera. Fortunately, Sierra nailed it easily. We did not.

Cap, Gown, and a Kindergarten Photo

The cap and gown portion of the day is where the kindergarten picture came in. Sierra held it and the gap between that little kid and the person standing in front of us was something. The stole with the handprints was a nice detail too, the kind of thing that reads immediately in a photo without needing any explanation. She’s worked hard to get here, and it shows.

Golden Hour in the Sunflowers

The shot we’ll remember most from this session is the portrait of Sierra holding a framed photo of her dad. It was one of the things she had mentioned in our conversations that she really wanted to incorporate.

If you’re interested in senior photography, reach out. We’d love to hear from you.

Senior Portraits at Louise Moore County Park: Lindsay’s Golden Hour Session in Easton, PA

wpx_varsityimage — Fri, 04 Sep 2026 11:59:20 +0000

Lindsay came in calm, which is honestly the best way to start a senior session. No nerves, no stiffness, she was just ready to have a good time and get some photos she liked. That energy makes a real difference.

We shot at Louise Moore County Park in Easton, PA, and this was our first time using the wildflower area there. Lindsay had a reason for that. She wanted something a little different from what most Emmaus High School seniors would have, and the wildflower field delivered.

We started loose and casual, leaning on a fence, relaxed poses, nothing forced. Lindsay settled in fast.

Cap and Gown

She brought her cap and gown, and we got the diploma shots done while the light was still even. Clean, classic, done.

The Wildflowers at Golden Hour

Towards the end of the session the sky just opened up. The sunset hit the wildflower field and everything went warm and golden. Lindsay stood in the middle of it looking at ease, and the light did the rest. These are the frames I knew we had from the moment I was shooting them.

Lindsay was a pleasure to work with start to finish. The wildflower field is going on the regular rotation, that sunset alone made the case for it.

If you’re interested in senior photography, reach out. We’d love to hear from you.

Aiden – Lehigh University Senior Portrait

wpx_varsityimage — Tue, 04 Mar 2025 02:51:52 +0000

Here’s Aiden!

One of the perks of being a senior portrait photographer in the Lehigh Valley is having the opportunity to meet some incredibly bright and amazing young people! Not only is Aiden funny and polite, he’s also incredibly smart and is looking at going to school for engineering. At the time of our session, it was still up in the air where he’s going to end up, but I can promise you that the prospects sound amazing!

Lehigh University Campus

Lehigh University’s campus is an amazing location for senior portraits. There is a perfect mix of scenic beauty, historic charm, and it is in an incredibly convenient location in Bethlehem, PA. There are plenty of open green spaces, gardens and walking paths provide a natural and vibrant setting. The stunning Gothic-style architecture—like Packer Memorial Church and Linderman Library—adds a timeless, sophisticated vibe to your photos. The campus is super accessible (with plenty of parking), making it easy to find incredible backdrops without too much effort. If you’re looking for a classic, sophisticated look or something more relaxed and nature-inspired, Lehigh has it all!

Owen – Emmaus Baseball Player

wpx_varsityimage — Sun, 10 Nov 2024 12:56:29 +0000

Take me home, country roads. West Virgina Bound!

I always encourage seniors to bring props with them to their senior portrait session. Owen decided that he wanted to incorporate his grandfather’s Dodge Ram into the shoot. Being a Dodge guy myself, I was pretty excited at the idea of it! Talk about the All-American guy! Trucks, baseball and some Zach Bryan playing in the background during the shoot.

For the first part of his session, we went to Lockridge Park in Alburtis, PA. A classic location popular for senior portraits featuring some great stone architecture and backdrops with open areas for more nature-oriented photos. We finished our session over at the Emmaus High School’s baseball stadium where we could get on the field to get some action shots.

I can’t wait to see what’s in the future for Owen as he heads off to West Virginia University to major in the sports media program. I’m already impressed with his skills as a graphic artist and I’m looking forward to all of the amazing things he’s going to create.

Kylie Sunflower Senior Portrait Session

wpx_varsityimage — Mon, 28 Oct 2024 14:27:00 +0000

Meet Kylie

I’ve known Kylie for years, ever since the first time I did her family’s photo which doesn’t seem like very long ago!! Dance has been a huge part of her life, so it was important to her that we incorporate dance into her session! She brought a pair of pointe shoes for her sunflower senior portrait session. Since it’s a little challenging to show off any moves in a sunflower field (and possibly muddy!), those shots were saved for the studio session.

Rodale Sunflower Garden

This is where you should talk about the location and why it’s great for senior photos! Explain why it worked so well for the session, why your client loved it, and why it might be a good choice for future seniors to choose for their photos.
One of the best spots for sunflower photos in the Lehigh Valley is the Rodale Organic Institue at St. Luke’s Anderson Campus. Middle to late August is probably when the sunflowers will be at their peak. We timed the session just right, around 6:30PM, when the day started to cool off a little bit, and the sun was at just the right height. We had the perfect light for her session, and the sunset didn’t disappoint!

Studio session at Fox and Finch

I don’t own my own studio space (yet!), but anytime I need one, I use Fox and Finch Studio in Fountain Hill, PA. They have an amazing assortment of furniture, multiple vignettes for different types of sessions, and moveable backgrounds so you can create just about any kind of setup. The natural light coming in from the large windows was absolutely perfect for some of the dance shots. For others, I was able to mix in some gels to get some creative looks. I’m absolutely thrilled with what we were able to capture here. It’s always a great location for studio sessions!

Payton – Kalmbach Park Senior Portrait

wpx_varsityimage — Wed, 23 Oct 2024 12:59:00 +0000

Payton

From athletics to academics, Payton is an all-star on and off the track! For her senior portrait session, she wanted to go to Kalmbach Park. . . one of my favorite locations in Macungie, PA for senior and family portraits. For the second part of her session, we went to the high school track so she could show off some medals and have the perfect backdrop for a runner! Check out some of the amazing photos from her session!

Kalmbach Park

Kalmbach Memorial Park in Macungie, Pennsylvania, provides a scenic backdrop for senior portrait photography. The park’s walking trails, historic 1850s barn, and varied natural landscapes give you an assortment of settings to reflect the spirit of this milestone event. From the bright colors of spring to the full foliage of summer and the warm tones of autumn, Kalmbach Park provides year-round scenery for unforgettable senior portraits.

Senior Portrait Session Prep: 6 Tips for Stunning Photos

wpx_varsityimage — Tue, 11 Jun 2024 17:02:06 +0000

Your senior portrait session is a big deal and a fun way to capture your uniqueness. Here are some friendly tips to help you get ready and be sure your photos turn out amazing.

Choose Your Outfits

Picking your favorite clothes is key to your senior portrait session prep. Go for a few different looks that you feel comfortable in. Think about mixing casual and dressy outfits to give yourself some variety. Here are some things to keep in mind:

Show off your style: Wear clothes that reflect who you are. So if you rock the Doc Martens with jeans and a flannel, my 90’s self will give you a high five.

Keep it simple: Solid colors or simple patterns work best so the focus stays on you.

Match the season and location: This will help you stay comfortable during your session.

Coordinate without matching too much: If you’re bringing multiple outfits, try to choose ones that are different, but still reflect your personality.

**Tip**: Set out your outfits the night before to be sure they’re clean and wrinkle-free. If you have furry family members, bring a lint roller just in case.

Get Plenty of Rest

Just like going to school every day, you want to get a good night’s rest before your session. Make sure that you’re hydrated. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.

Avoid caffeine and screens: Try to turn screens off at least an hour before bedtime, and stay away from caffeine at least 5 hours before bed.

Have a bedtime routine: Be consistent with your sleep habits. Fun fact: LeBron James shoots for 9-10 hours of sleep a night!

**Tip**: Relax before bed by doing calming activities like a bath, meditation, yoga, or reading.

Practice Posing

If you’re not used to having your photo taken, practicing posing can help you feel more confident and have more fun with your session. Find some poses you like online and try them out in the mirror. If you think it’s ridiculous. . . well I got you to smile without even taking a picture!

Focus on:

Finding your best angles: Try different tilts and smiles. Do you prefer one side more? I like my left side!

Practicing natural smiles: Natural smiles are the best, think of something funny, nobody has to know!

Experimenting with hand placements: Thumbs or fingers in pockets, never whole hands. Keep your hands from mirroring each other.

**Tip**: Make your hands into fists and then relax them. This makes your hands look and feel more natural.

Bring Any Props or Accessories You Want to Include

These sessions are all about you and what you like. Bring the things that show off what you’re into:

Sports equipment: Helmets, sticks, shoes. . . bring it all!

Musical instruments: The louder the better, and be prepared to rock out a little. I may have bought a guitarlele after seeing one for the first time.

Hobby-related items: Anything that represents your hobbies, like books, cameras, knitting, or even cosplay!

Accesorize: Hats, scarves, jewlery and lightsabers.

**Tip**: Lay out your props and accessories when you do your outfits, this will make your senior portrait session prep a little easier.

Communicate with Your Photographer

Making your session about YOU is the most important thing to me. The last thing this should feel like is the 12 other school photos you’ve had taken. Let’s jump on a call and talk about your session and what you’re looking forward to most about it.

Share your vision:What’s the look you’re going for?

Discuss locations: Is there a place that is important to you?

Review the portfolio: Are there poses, locations or styles that you like.

**Tip**: Feel free to share a Pinterest mood board with me, I’d love to see what inspires you.

Relax and Have Fun

This is your session! Take a breath, relax and embrace being awesome. There’s no pressure, we’re just hanging out and I happen to be taking a few pictures.

Be yourself: Be unapologetically authentic.

Take breaks if needed: If you need a moment, that’s ok! Cheeks cramping up a bit? We can chill for a minute.

Enjoy the experience: Have fun with it, you’re celebrating a milestone!

**Tip**: Bring a friend or a puppy.

Keira – Lehigh Parkway Senior Portrait

wpx_varsityimage — Sun, 15 Oct 2023 10:56:00 +0000

“Not all those who wander are lost.”

Nestled in the heart of Allentown, The Lehigh Parkway is the perfect spot for a laid back afternoon. You’ll see people running, biking, hiking fishing, and sometimes like today, photo shoots! I have done many sessions here over the years, and there are so many different backdrops that change throughout the season.

Keira wanted a to go for a more classic look with her images. with all natural light senior portraits. She even brought a cowboy hat and flowers for a few photos to match the season. My favorite prop that she had was a copy of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings.” Books always make for great props. . . just my opinion!

I’m completely stoked about the photos we created. The light was absolutely perfect for her session, and we found so many great locations. Check out some of the images below, and don’t forget to reach out to me if you’re looking for a photographer for your next session!
